Common air freight problems with batteries

1. A pallet with 10 cartons, only 2 of them have built-in batteries, how to attach this battery label?

Answer: 2 cartons containing batteries should be pasted, other cartons should not be pasted, and the pallet should be pasted again

2. The goods on the punch card board are all electrified, is only one sticker on the card board, or is it to be pasted on each box inside, and then one on the card board?

A: All cartons containing batteries should be pasted, and the pallet should be pasted with another sheet

3. Can the battery label be printed on A4 paper, is it acceptable to print black and white or color, and can it be printed directly on the carton?

A: It is not accepted to print directly on the carton and A4 paper black and white/color printing. THE BATTERY LABEL MUST BE PRINTED IN COLOR, WITH A RED

DIAGONAL SLASH, AND THE SPECIFICATION IS 120*110MM

4. Is there a requirement for the position of the battery label?

Answer: Paste it on the outer box, there is no specified position, it is best to stick it in the same position

5. Is the label of lithium metal the same as that of lithium-ion battery?

A: Not really.

LITHIUM ION BATTERIES, LITHIUM METAL BATTERIES, AND THE PHONE NUMBER SHOULD ALSO BE DISPLAYED

THE BATTERY LABEL MUST BE PRINTED IN COLOR, WITH A RED DIAGONAL SLASH, AND THE SPECIFICATION IS 120*110MM)

The SHPR/CNEE information in the battery label sample on the outer box can be omitted

6. For goods departing from Beijing, sometimes it is required to paste 2 battery labels, and sometimes it is required to paste one, how to distinguish it?

Answer: The reservoir area is different, and the requirements are also different

operated in BGS

TG generally operates in the Air China Library, depending on how the agent arranges

7. Who writes the phone number on the battery label, and can it be handwritten?

Answer: The phone number of the consignor of the retained sub-order and the telephone number of the consignor of the direct order can be handwritten

8. Can I borrow MSDS?Can MSDS accept COPY pieces?Do customers need to charge money if they don't have MSDS?How much does it cost?

Answer: We do not advocate providing MSDS on behalf of customers, because there is a great risk, we can operate the general goods of old customers or more

reliable customers as appropriate, and generally charge RMB450/BL.

COPY pieces are acceptable, no originals are required.

If there is more than one main score, and each sub-order has a battery, the MSDS corresponding to each sub-order must be printed out in whole and randomly

9. Why is there a risk in borrowing MSDS?

Answer: MSDS is a technical instruction manual issued by the manufacturer's technical personnel or professional third-party organization, the battery has certain safety

transportation hazards in the transportation process, when the unfortunate battery fire, battery material leakage, etc., can be handled according to the technical

guidelines of MSDS. Because we are not familiar with the product, if we just apply an MSDS, when something really happens, this MSDS may not be able to play a

guiding role in rescuing the accident at all.

Therefore, it is the most responsible way to hope that the manufacturer can provide the matching MSDS for the shipped products.

10. Which type of battery should be labeled with which type?

Answer: Based on the customer's judgment of the product and battery type, the customer provides MSDS and product pictures, because we are not clear about the

product, we can only rely on MSDS to judge (provided that MSDS is correct/matched).

We also only judge according to MSDS, if the physical object does not match the battery file, the guest will be responsible.

Reference may be made to point 15

11. What should be paid attention to when warehousing battery for battery goods, especially for some goods with batteries or built-in batteries for some goods?

For example, a batch of 70 pieces, of which 10 pieces of PI967, 15 pieces of PI970, 5 pieces of dry batteries, the rest is not charged, divided into four factories to deliver

the warehouse, divided into four batches of delivery, when going to the port, do you want to combine a ticket to go to the port? or keep four pick-up numbers? Why?

Answer: The customer will divide the goods into four parts before handing over the warehouse, paste the corresponding battery label and then hand over the warehouse,

and provide MSDS and battery letter

Specifically, let the guests be delivered in four batches, and the next port is also divided into four delivery numbers, especially in the case of a particularly large number

of containers, we must distinguish the delivery warehouse to avoid mixing the goods together with Hong Kong, in case the guests do not have a battery label, they do

not know how to divide the goods.

Avoid incurring additional distribution costs (Hong Kong distribution fees, battery labeling fees are very expensive, and additional operation fees are charged), which

can save time

2. What is the cost of battery labels in Shenzhen/Hong Kong?

Answer: The cost of Shenzhen sticker is RMB1-2/piece, the cost of Hong Kong sticker is HKD10-15/piece (even MIN HKD500/ticket, additional operation fee will be

charged), at least RMB2/piece (Shenzhen), HKD10-15/piece (or MIN HKD500/ticket)

13. What are the requirements for the customs declaration information of battery goods?

Answer: As with the customs declaration information of ordinary goods, there are no special requirements. All are basic: customs declaration draft list (or declaration

element form), agent declaration power of attorney, contract or manual, packing list, invoice, blank stamped A4 paper. All documents need to be stamped with the

official seal of the business unit.

14. Are there any special requirements or displays for HAWB/MAWB for battery cargo?

A: If there is a product with batteries, the following words will be displayed on the bill of lading

LITHIUM ION(METAL) BATTERY IN COMPLIANCE WITH SECTION II OF PI967/PI970 - XX CTNS

16. In addition to the goods themselves, what other reasons will cause the battery goods to not be on the plane?

A: According to the airline's own internal requirements, if it does not meet the requirements or the airline itself does not accept such battery cargo, or does not accept

it for the second trip, then it cannot be boarded on the plane or transferred to other airlines, such as:

A: EK does not accept PI965, all goods will be unpacked and inspected

B: AY accepts PI966/PI967/PI970, and the electrical test is OK before it can be put on the board

C: All batteries in TG must be tested before they can be put on board

D: MK does not accept battery goods

E: PR The goods packaging with the battery must be intact

F: AK does not accept battery goods, and does not accept pallets/wooden box goods

G: MH with batteries must indicate how many PCS of goods are in each box and the weight of batteries in 1pcs

17. What are the requirements for the destination after receiving the battery goods, or inspection, and what should the destination consignee pay attention to?

Answer: According to the requirements of the local cargo station or transit station of the destination, there will also be opportunities for random spot checks, for example,

Germany will be relatively strict, if the spot check will be checked together with the label/document/goods, if it is not correct, there may be fines or deductions or other

treatments, and additional costs will be generated.

If it is found that the goods/bills/labels are incorrect at the transit port, the transit port will not arrange transshipment, and the port of departure will be retrieved, and the

documents will be changed again or relabeled or otherwise processed, and additional costs will be incurred.

18. What is the process of "power inspection" at the airport, and what problems will arise here?

Answer: The practice of Hong Kong experts: The test is to send all the live goods and documents to the airport first, and then the cargo station staff will check the

documents and open the goods and take out the battery for inspection (the cargo station staff will decide which box to inspect or how many boxes to open).

Generally, they will know which airlines need to be tested, and they will arrange the first inspection when the goods are dispersed or before the board, and the goods

will be returned to the warehouse for board or directly discarded if there is no problem in the inspection.

In case of more than one master, the electricity inspection fee will be charged according to the sub-order

If the power inspection fails, the board will not be arranged or dissolved, and the shipment will be arranged after the problem is solved

19. Format and filling requirements of battery letter.

Answer:

A. On letterhead, the consignor of the separate order is retained, and the consignor of the direct bill is retained by the direct order,

B. Fill in the corresponding master tracking number, sub-tracking number, departure port and destination port

C. Fill in the corresponding battery type and number of pieces/pieces

D. Must be signed and sealed

E. Have a corresponding MSDS number

F. The battery letter should be scanned in color, and photos will not be accepted

20. Why are the requirements for battery goods different between the mainland (mostly Shenzhen/Guangzhou) and Hong Kong?

Answer:

The general situation of electrified goods in Shenzhen/Guangzhou is as follows:

Dry batteries: Shenzhen/Guangzhou can accept the export of goods containing dry batteries (as long as there is insulated packaging, the button is not powered in the

ON state), and there is no need to provide battery documents or labels, and it can be exported as general goods.

Lithium battery:

A. The factory needs rootsMake a battery test report of UN38.3 according to your own products

B. After the battery test report of UN38.3 is completed, the 'Cargo Safety Transportation Test Report' should be made, which should be used only according to the

requirements of the cargo station of the airport where it is shipped, and only the report of the organization approved by the cargo station can be used

C. Before shipment, provide two reports to the agent, the agent goes to the airline for the record, and the shipment can only be shipped after the audit is passed

D. After the goods are put into the warehouse, the security check will open the box and check the information on the goods and the appraisal report, and the goods

can be shipped smoothly after verification.

E. Refusal of Pure Battery Cargo

The general situation of live goods in Hong Kong is as follows:

Battery letter, MSDS, battery labeling, basically OK

21. Is there a need for MSDS and UN38.3 for battery goods, and is there any requirement for the institution that issues MSDS & UN38.3?

Answer:

Strictly speaking, it is necessary to match, and there are a few Hong Kong experts who are strict in operation and require MSDS/UN38.3. It would be nice if the guest

could provide the supporting documents, but MSDS is required.

MSDS:

It is not an appraisal report, but a technical instruction manual, which is more similar to the instruction manual of the product, and can be prepared by the factory itself

or entrusted by a professional third-party organization to handle the MSDS.

The need for official certification for MSDS usually refers to the country or government department that formulates the regulations or the basis for the preparation

of MSDS reports.

For details, please refer to the attachments "Air Freight Appraisal Report and MSDS" and "MSDS Sample".

UN38.3:

UN38.3 is a battery safety performance test report.

UN38.3 is part 38.3 of the United Nations Manual of Tests and Criteria for the Transport of Dangerous Goods, referred to as UN38.3.

If the lithium battery is not installed with the device and contains more than 24 cells or 12 batteries per package, it must also pass a 1.2 m free drop test.

Entrust a professional third-party organization to handle it.
